Today my mom took me out for a little retail therapy...and I do feel better! Lots of sales at the mall...got a camisole and mini-sweater and new belt from Express for $25. New pj pants from Deb for $12. New sexy bra from Dillards...$15. My mom also bought me a pair of Crocs clogs. Now, I freely admit that these are not what I would call attractive shoes, and I thought it was some silly fashion statement. But after wearing them around...they are probably some of the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn. I'm very much a heels girl, but if I didn't have to wear them for work/extra height I would wear Crocs all the time.
My mom also got me a chinese lantern for my house to go in the dining area. Pier 1, for messing up my table so much (ie....the base taking forever to get here, the hardware kit/instructions not included) gave me 15% off my table and another 15% coupon off merchandise. I already have some pillows in mind LOL. Martha fucking Stewart has nothing on me muahahahaha....
Earlier this week had the dildo talk with grandma. She just doesn't get it. This is the second time I've had to explain the difference between a strap on and a dildo. Some grandmas talk to their grandaughters about stuff like baking bread, knitting, and boyfriends...but no, mine talks to me about sex toys and S&M gear LMAO. My mom is not much better. She was grossing out my sister and I telling about different positions in which to get pregnant (like we need to know) in which we responded by sticking our fingers in our ears and shouting "LALALALALALA." I think she got a sick kick out of grossing us out. So my mom is like "well you tell me about your sex life" and I'm like "that's only because you point blank ask me, and I can't lie to you because you know when I'm lying." It's a no-win situation.
Apparently my 12 year old sister Megan has a hot new bf...and get this...his name is Sandro. How sexy is this? His family is from Bosnia, and they either moved here after he was born or he was born over here right after. So sexy named European man. And don't ask her what his last name is, because she said she can't pronounce it. My mom said he's very cute...very tan, sunkissed hair, has a six pack and toned all over...including...gasp...a slight accent! Damn, my sister has done well! He calls her every night (which is better than nearly all men in my dating range) and invited her to his pool party. Apparently that was interesting in and of itself, because my sister and one other kid from school were the only Americans there...the rest was his Bosnian family (fyi....there are lots of Bosnian refugees in the town I'm from). The adults knew little English, and him and his cousins knew English but all talked to each other in Bosnian, so I guess my sister and the other kid pretty much hung out w/ each other. The cousins did ask my sister if she would marry Sandro (god that's a sexy name) LMAO.
But get this...and I love this...how he asked her out. Apparently he called one night and said "Megan, I want you to be my girlfriend." LMAO!!! She's 12 years old and she has the sexiest kid alive. I feel so gross saying that too LOL. And she's gaga too...before she was borderline tomboy, and it was a fight to get her to shower and to comb out her hair. Now, she shaves her legs, does her hair, and even puts on lip gloss LOL. Knowing middle school relationships I bet it won't last too long, but hey...she can tell her kids someday she used to date a European guy named Sandro!
Ashli is still crushing on Steve, as she has since he moved to Crete a year ago. Apparently the other night when my parents were out her friend invited them over to my parents house for a party....and she gushed to me he sat in "her" chair LOL!!! Though from what I understand, she was too shy to say much. But he apparently noticed that she went to the street dance with that dipshit Aaron who ended up ditching her...but he only noticed her coming in with him. The next night, Steve called and casually said he noticed her there with Aaron LOL!!! Score one for Ash.
Ok ok...I know I've gone forever about my sisters. I guess I'm just enjoying watching them grow up and become women. Especially with Ashli...we're really starting to have an awesome bond. She asks me for advice etc...which I don't know if I'm the greatest source or not, but I do know the difference between a guy not to waste your time on and not, so I'm glad I can at least tell her what not to go for. Esp ones that clean out your bank account!
So it was a good day. My crazy assed family can pick up my spirits like none other. In a way, it's not a total loss losing my job...I have more time to concentrate on my work. I guess I was just so stressed out all the time working both jobs and school, and the most important thing is school. Now I can start applying for scholarships and internships...things I've been putting on the backburner for some time. I'm going to apply for the history major honor society this fall, and hopefully that will open up some ops for me. Looking at other options as well...like do I want to stay in Lincoln for another year and a half? The rate my friends are taking off and moving away I don't know. I love my family, but honestly there is no future out here. I'm not scared about making friends or anything like that...I guess I seem to get along with most people fairly well. I think the part I'm scared about is money and how I will survive. Things always work out in the end usually...I guess it's the time of not knowing what's happening is scariest. j
Time for me to go to the kegger...Dan texted me and there's a spur of the moment party at LP's house down the street. I haven't decided whether to walk or not. I don't like walking by myself at night, but I don't want to drive either because I'd like to do some decent drinking. I'm sure I can catch a ride home from someone, but walking alone freaks me out a bit. The good thing is all the roads to LP's are major streets, so I'm a bit safer. I guess I'll have to be alert!
